Future versions
Initially we had plans to create PocketPC, MS Windows Desktop and J2Me/Mobile versions, Somewhere along the way our hands became very full and suddenly there were (too?) many releases of SuDoKu for these platforms (although we think none is as easy to use as TopSuDoKu), we regrettably kind of gave up. However, we have recently started writing a Windows Mobile 5.0 version. It should be ready for release before Christmas...if you wish to be a tester, please contact us.
Registration
Register the software is buying the software. After you purchase the software you will receive (immediately) registration code via e-mail. To register (also called unlock) the software, simply start it on your palm device, a registration screen should pop. Tap the code you received and hit register. If the code is correct (more about that below), your software is registered and all product features are available for you.
The registration code is automatically generated and is based on an identifier you provide during the purchase. This identifier is called the "HotSync ID". It is the "username" you use when you sync your device. The registration code takes the user name and creates a code that is based on this string. The registration code is validated in your palm against the actual hotsync ID that the device is reporting, thus, if you provided a hotsync ID that is (even slightly) different from the one that your palm device reports, the code fails.
In such cases of a mistyped hotsync ID we kindly request you to send us the new hotsync ID along with some reference of your purchase and we will instantly issue you a working code for the new Hotsync ID. You never need to purchase TopSuDoKu again for yourself. If you wish to get another registration code for a friend, please contact us and we will give you a discount for the second title.
While there are several ways to do so, our suggestion is to install TopSuDoKu and start it on your palm, as you start an unregistered version of TopSuDoKu, a registration screen pops up. Your exact hotsync ID is stated in this registration screen, please make a note of it and copy it as is (case sensitive and spaces).

A trial version is a copy of our software that is not registered. In most cases some of the functionality (such as the solver in TopSuDoKu) is not available.
No! The trial and full version are the same software, the only difference is that in the trial version, some functions are blocked until the registration code is punched. Once you successfully register your copy the trial version becomes a full version.
Yes! All upgrades are free for life, Every so often we update the product and recommend that you always upgrade to the latest version. You do not need to register the game again. Simply install the new version and continue playing.
In many cases, the HotSync Id on your new device is not exactly the same as the one on the older device, this causes a mismatch between the old registration code which was based on the old HotSync ID. To resolve this, please send us the new hotsync ID of your new device and we'll generate a new working registration code for you.
Usage
First, relax, its not you, its us. At some point, we had many requests from users to add a functionality called highlighting. This allows to highlight squares, that is to mark them for whatever reason. Toggling in and out of highlight mode is done by tapping the high lighter button (to the left of the board). Many first time users, tap the buttons randomly and accidentally enter the highlight mode, hence when you then tap a board square it is highlighted instead of the standard functionality that opens the number chooser form that allows punching in numbers. So, in short, just toggle the highlight mode making it disable and hit any square to get the number popup to show.
In general, no. We do not have a real desktop version. However, it is possible to run TopSuDoKu on a regular MS windows based PC. The steps are a little complicated but here's the basic plot: 1) obtain a palm Os emulator. a Palm Os Emulator is a PC software that emulates Palm pilot on your PC. a relatively stable working emulator (called simulator for some reason) is available from from Palm official developers site at http://www.palmos.com/dev/tools/simulator/ they require a short registration. After you've downloaded and installed the simulator, you can simply download TopSudoku (TopSuDoKu.prc) save it in some location on your desktop PC. To "install" it on your emulator, start the emulator (it should be installed on your computer already) and drag the file on to the emulator. Once installed, simply click TopSuDoKu icon on the emulator and start playing!
